I. Introduction

The Chinese Language Education Center (CLEC) is offering a Mandarin Summer Program in 2012. This program aims to give young people from all over the world the chance to not only learn Mandarin, but to also experience real Taiwanese culture.

II. Course plan

1.      ApplicantsIndividuals or Groups, aged 16-30.

2.      Placement Evaluation and Class SelectionStudents will be placed in learning groups according to their level of Mandarin proficiency. For this purpose, a Mandarin Proficiency Test will be conducted on the first day of the course. Beginners with no prior Mandarin training are welcome. 

3.      LocationNational Taipei University of Education. 106, No.134, Sec. 2, Heping East . Rd., Taipei (nearby MRT Technology Building Station)

4.      Class sizes8-12 students per class.

5.      Course Duration

Session I2012/07/02(Monday) to 2012/07/22(Sunday)

Session II2012/07/23(Monday) to 2012/08/12(Sunday)

6.      Attendance

Class Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 - 12:00 (15 hrs per week)

Field trip: Saturday, Sunday

Course I

7,8 July 2012Su Ao Cold Spring,Sunrise on Taiping Mountain(Ilan County).

14,15 July 2012Paper Church,Sun-moon Lake,Aboriginal Culture Village (Nantou County).

21, 22 July 2012: North Coast Canoeing & Sightseeing (New Taipei City)

Course II

28, 29 July 2012: Pottery & Dye Cultural Trip (Yingge, Sanxia, Taipei County),

Little Wulai Skywalk (Taoyuan County)

4, 5 August 2012: Former Capital Cultural Expedition (Tainan City)

11, 12 August 2012: Whitewater Rafting, Aboriginal Cultural Village (Hualian County)

IV .Payment

One 3 week Course Fee: US$1,600 (NT$45,000)  FEE INCLUDES: registration fee, tuition, textbooks & class materials, also includes field trip meals, transport, accommodation and entrance tickets, as well as accident & medical insurance cover of up to NT$1000 000 and NT$100 000 respectively)

Course Fee of only US$1,460 (NT$41,000)

Option III Group Bonus

2 Persons: Course Fee of only US$ 1,495 (NT$42000) per person

       3 Persons: Course Fee of only US$ 1,475 (NT$41500) per person

       4 Persons: Course Fee of only US$ 1,460 (NT$41000) per person

4-6 persons per room (6 single beds)
